Hare & Humphreys
Founded in 1987, Hare & Humphreys is one of Britain’s leading exponents of the art of painting,
gilding, conservation and decoration of historic and contemporary buildings - delivering a wide range
of expertise both nationally and internationally.
In addition the perimeter wall, pilasters, arches, cornices
and details are redecorated to produce a stippled stone
effect together with painted blocklines to simulate ashlar
stonework, with the entire barrel roof beams redecorated.
Our dedicated team has been proud to deliver a variety
of decorative and restoration works at- St Patrick’s
Catholic Church, Soho Square.
The church buildings we see today, opened on St Patrick’s
Day 1893 and were officially consecrated on 20th
September 1900. Sally Strachey Historic Conservation
Ltd, secured the overall contract and appointed Hare &
Humphreys to undertake the restoration and decoration
works throughout the three floors of the church in 2020.
Further works have been undertaken by Hare &
Humphreys each year up to 2024.
The internal view looking east towards the sanctuary on
the ground floor illustrates faux marble painted panels, a
gilded frieze to the perimeter, large gilded and stencilled
panels at clerestory level all surmounted by the partially
redecorated domed ceiling.
