I am a Consultant Haematologist providing independent medico-legal opinion in civil
claims, including personal injury and clinical negligence.
Mr Savvas Papagrigoriadis holds a Degree in Medicine from the University of Athens, a
Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, a Masters of Research Methods
in Health Sciences of the University of Northumbria at Newcastle. He is in the Specialist
Register of the General Medical Council since 1995.
I provide clear, structured, and objective reports grounded in specialist haematology
expertise and a strong analytical background in mathematics and physics (double first
class honours). This supports a logical, probability-based approach to complex issues of
causation, particularly in cases involving multiple contributing factors or diagnostic
uncertainty.
He has been a UK Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon since 1998, The Lead of
Colorectal Surgery at King’s College Hospital, London, and Honorary Senior Lecturer in
Surgery at King’s College London, between 2001 and 2018. Between 2004 and 2018
he was the Chairman of the Colorectal Cancer MDT and also Chairman of the Pelvic
Floor MDT, Chair of the regional South East Early Rectal Cancer MDT, and Head of
Clinical Governance for surgery. He has been on call general surgeon consultant in a
centre of major trauma for 25 years and has extensive experience in emergency general
surgery. Also served as a trainer of the national training program in laparoscopic
colorectal surgery (LapCo) 2008-2012.
My reports are concise, transparent, and written for a non-medical audience, with clear
separation of fact, assumption, and opinion. All conclusions are expressed on the balance
of probabilities and supported by explicit reasoning, enabling the Court to understand
and rely upon the evidence.
I have extensive experience in clinical governance, including Serious Adverse Event
review, Root Cause Analysis, and complaints investigation. This provides practical insight
into clinical decision-making, system failures, and the assessment of standards of care.
His clinical and research interests have been colorectal cancer, emergency general
surgery, diverticular disease and pelvic floor disorders, An academic supervisor of
several postgraduate MD(Res) and PhD thesis degrees, as well as an examiner at the
University of London. Mr Papagrigoriadis retired from the NHS in 2018 and since then
has been working in private practice and medicolegal work.

Mr Papagrigoriadis is an Expert Witness for the courts with 25 years’ experience,
including as appointed Joint Expert by the courts. He is an accredited Mediator. His
medicolegal expertise includes diverticular disease, pelvic mesh complications, bowel
impact of cauda equina syndrome and all aspects of colorectal surgery and emergency
surgery. Mr. Papagrigoriadis has worked extensively as expert in pelvic mesh cases,
including as joint single expert.

Professor Ganesh Subramanian
Consultant Stroke Physician

Professor Ganesh Subramanian is a Consultant Stroke Physician based in
Nottinghamshire (currently working in Chesterfield, having previously worked in
Nottingham [for over 15 years] and Central Manchester. Since attaining his CCST in 2002,
Prof Subramanian has been employed as a Consultant in general, stroke and geriatric
medicine, including cerebrovascular disease. He is involved in the management of all forms of
stroke across the whole patient pathway (i.e. diagnosis, investigation, acute treatment,
rehabilitation and re-integration, secondary prevention and long-term complications) and transient
ischaemic attack (TIA).
Prof Subramanian is the Regional Clinical Director for Stroke in the East Midlands (since 2020). He was the
Chair of the Clinical Advisory Group for Stroke in the East Midlands region (since 2016 - 2020) and is a member
of CVD steering group. He led the development of Mechanical Thrombectomy pathway for East Midlands as well as led the
deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) software for stroke imaging and CT perfusion regionally.
Prof Subramanian writes reports for both claimants and defendants (roughly 70/30 split); he also produces reports for CPS/Police.
He produces around 150 - 200 reports a year.
Prof. Subramanian is available for teleconferences, will happily visit patients in their homes, conduct virtual assessments (if
appropriate), and attend Court, etc.
