Sheweidin Aziz is a full-time consultant spinal
surgeon at University Hospitals of Leicester, with
specialist interests in metastatic spinal disease, cauda
equina syndrome, and degenerative spinal pathologies.
She has presented her work nationally and internationally,
received awards for her research, and contributed to
multiple peer-reviewed publications. Her research portfolio
is extensive, with particular interests in metastatic spinal
disease and cauda equina syndrome.
Dr Eugene McNally is a Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist with over 25
Miss Aziz currently serves as Audit Lead for the Trauma and
Orthopaedics Department and remains actively involved in
service development and clinical governance. She is also
committed to undergraduate and postgraduate education,
regularly contributing to teaching programmes, interview
panels, and revision courses. Her dedication to medical
education was recognised with the Outstanding Clinical
Teacher Award from the University of Leicester Medical
School.

Dr McNally acts as an expert witness, including the preparation of medico
legal reports and giving evidence in court, in personal injury and clinical
negligence cases relating to:
Miss Aziz was privileged to be among the first cohort of
Spinal Training Interface Group (TIG) Fellows in the UK.
During her TIG fellowship, she gained broad experience in
paediatric deformity, spinal trauma, primary spinal tumours,
and degenerative spinal conditions. She subsequently
completed a prestigious spinal fellowship at the Leeds
Centre for Neurosciences, further consolidating her
subspecialist expertise before commencing her consultant
career at the University Hospitals of Leicester.

Mr. Mike Hart performs work as an expert witness with Eopinex. His aim is to
provide specialist information in a clear and timely manner, producing the highest
standard of court-compliant reports. He actively participates in regular formal
training delivered by certified providers to remain up to date, in line with guidance
from the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges (2019).
Dr Ioannis Mavroudis is a Consultant Neurologist at Leeds Teaching
Hospitals Trust. He also runs private clinics at The Good Health Centre
and 10 Harley Street, London. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at
Leeds University and a Medical Director at Sigma-Pi Healthcare Ltd,
and Sigma-Pi MedicoLegal Ltd.
His specialist interests encompass the full spectrum of functional neurosurgery,
including movement disorders, pain, and epilepsy. He also undertakes general
neurosurgery—such as the management of hydrocephalus, infection, and
traumatic brain injury—as well as spinal surgery, including decompression,
discectomy, and cauda equina syndrome.
He completed his basic training in Greece in 2004, where he obtained his
MD. Worked as a research fellow with the Laboratory of Neuropathology
and Electron microscopy of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki from
2005 to 2013, when he presented his Thesis and obtained his PhD.
Areas of Expertise
He joined the Neurology department at Leeds General Infirmary in
October 2017 as a Consultant Neurologist, and joined the Motor Neurone
Disease team on January 2021.

lumbar stenosis, whiplash, neck pain, cervical disc disease, cervical

dystonia; pain; spinal cord stimulation; epilepsy; vagal nerve stimulation;
spasticity; intrathecal drug delivery; peripheral nerve stimulation.
He has experience with the entire spectrum of Neurology from
Traumatic brain injuries and post-concussion syndrome, Multiple Sclerosis,
Parkinson’s disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Dementia, Headache
treatments, Functional Neurological Disorders, cognitive disorders,
medically unexplained symptoms and Epilepsy.
He runs Traumatic Brain Injury (Concussions/post-concussion syndrome),
general neurology and Functional Neurological disorders clinics.
