Colour Temperature
A warm white light (2,700K as standard)
Colour Rendering Index
A high CRI is required to bring out the rich colours,
definition & brush strokes in the paintings.
Head Shape & Size
We can work with all shapes & styles of picture lights.
Both new & existing.
LED Lensing & Spacing
Various lensing & separations are available and will
be selected depending on the picture light size in
comparison to the canvas dimensions.
Arm requirements
Correctly sized arms will be calculated (elevation &
projection), each with a swivel knuckle, to gain the
desired head position and angle. It is important to
shield the LED source so that no glare is observed when
viewing the painting.
Lighting Levels
Each picture light will be supplied with its own
dedicated dimmer to ensure correct levels are achieved
across the canvas.
Head Finishes
Many colours and finishes are available such as classic
old gold, brass, bronze, RAL specific colours, etc. With
existing picture lights, a re-spray is available and makes
all the difference if scratches are present.
Recently we were asked to work with the existing picture
lights in the Long Gallery at Castle Howard and use our
LED Upgrade Kit technology to transform the lighting
for their art collection. The paintings ranged from small
portraits (18” x 15”) through to full portraits (110” x
70”). Great coverage was achieved on all paintings.
