Specialist Applied-skills Programmes in Lead or Hard Metal
The Lead Sheet Training Academy (LSTA) has developed a unique opportunity for future leadwork and hard metals training.
The LSTA has been delivering Specialist Applied-Skills Programmes (SAP’s) for CITB since 2009. Since then 130 students have
been registered for the programme. There is a very high level of satisfactory completion – every candidate registered since
2014 has successfully completed the course – and users rate the courses highly.
We are appointed by CITB as the sole provider of this course across England, Scotland and Wales. Our contract with CITB
provides for up to 20 places a year on these programmes (15 for L2 and 5 for L3) with grant funding available to meet most
of the course fees.
SAPs are available at both Level 2 and Level 3 in either Hard or Soft Metals (not combined). The initial course is at Level 2. To

The LSTA offers six certificated courses, each of these courses are CITB and City & Guilds Accredited Programmes. A
deposit of 50% of the course fee will reserve your place with the remaining balance due 10 days before the course

City and Guilds Accredited courses available:
• Traditional Basic Leadwork Craft – this course is also available as two 3-days courses
• Traditional Intermediate Leadwork Craft (35-day course – split into 4 modules each taking 5 to 10 days)
Modules can be purchased separately.
• Traditional Advanced Leadwork Craft (15-day course)
• Traditional Basic Hard Metal Craft
• Traditional Intermediate Hard Metal Craft (30-day course – split into 4 modules each taking 5 to 9 days)
